Vilgain 80% Chocolate Shards dark - chocolate pieces made from the rarest variety of cocoawith a rich creamy taste without bitterness. Great for direct consumption or as an ingredient for cooking and baking.
Bean to bar - carefully selected cocoa beans with clear origins: The term "bean to bar" means that the chocolate is made from cocoa beans that are carefully cut, de‑husked, roasted, ground to a fine texture and finally poured into the final product. This is not mass production, which often uses pre‑made chocolate of uncertain origin and quality, which is simply melted and transformed into a slab of chocolate. The cocoa beans are single origin and come from Venezuela directly from the farmers there. The subsequent processing process then takes place in the Czech Republic, where the chocolate is hand‑packed. The entire journey from the cocoa beans to the final chocolate is in the hands of a single producer without any intermediate elements. Thanks to this, we are able to guarantee maximum and stable product quality.
The rarest Criollo variety: Criollo is the most prized variety, but it accounts for less than 5% of the world's cocoa production. These cocoa trees are very demanding to grow. However, the quality of their beans is incomparable to the classic varieties. They have a rich, creamy flavour without bitterness and a wide range of fruity, nutty and spicy flavour notes. We have added coconut sugar for a pleasantly sweet taste.
Free from flavourings and soya lecithin: Conventional chocolates contain the emulsifier soya lecithin, but this reduces the cocoa component. Another common ingredient is vanilla flavouring, which improves the flavour and masks the bitterness in lower quality beans. Neither of these substances can be found in our chocolate.
